Description

The 12V/24V/36V ferrite core SMPS transformer is a critical component in modern switching power supplies. It plays a key role in voltage transformation, energy conversion, and electrical isolation within the circuit.
In typical half-bridge topologies, the transformer operates at high frequencies (commonly 100kHz or above). The switching transistors generate high-frequency pulse signals, which the transformer converts to AC output. The turns ratio of the primary and secondary windings directly determines the final output voltage.
Within half-bridge power supply designs, three main types of high-frequency transformers are commonly used:
  1. Main Transformer: Handles the primary power conversion.
  2. Drive Transformer: Controls the switching transistors.
  3. Auxiliary/Standby Transformer: Provides power to the control circuit.
All our transformers meet international standards. For example, main transformers for power supplies over 200W feature a minimum magnetic core height of 35mm, while auxiliary transformers for power under 300W typically use a 16mm core diameter, ensuring reliable performance under rated conditions.

Key Characteristics of 12V/24V/36V SMPS High-Frequency Transformers
The 12V/24V/36V SMPS transformer is a power transformer designed to operate at frequencies above 10 kHz. It is primarily used as a high-frequency switching transformer in switching power supplies, as well as in high-frequency inverter power supplies and inverter welding machines. Its core advantages include:
  1. Uniform Current Distribution

The secondary windings of the transformer are typically configured with multiple parallel coils, all coupled to the same primary winding. This ensures equal ampere-turns across the secondary windings, making the transformer ideal for parallel rectifier circuits. With evenly distributed current, additional components such as current-sharing resistors are not required, simplifying circuit design and reducing costs.

  2. High Power Density

Thanks to its compact ferrite core design and excellent thermal dissipation characteristics, the transformer can be tightly integrated with semiconductors and inductors to achieve high power density. Its current density can reach up to 30A per module, making it suitable for space-constrained applications.

  3. High Efficiency & Performance

By optimizing leakage inductance, the transformer achieves fast switching times and very low insertion loss, enabling it to handle high power levels efficiently. Inter-winding conduction losses between primary and secondary windings are minimized, ensuring stable and reliable operation under rated conditions.

    4.High Current Density

Our high-frequency transformers feature excellent thermal stability and temperature rise characteristics. This allows them to achieve high current density within a compact footprint, making them ideal for space-constrained power supply designs.

    5.Cost-Effective Design

Constructed from a small number of readily available components, these transformers are easy to assemble and require minimal production costs. This cost-effective design ensures reliable performance at a competitive price point for your applications.
