1. Current distribution

A typical secondary winding of high frequency transformer has several coils in parallel. Each secondary winding is coupled with the same primary winding. Therefore, the number of ampere turns of secondary winding current is equal to that of primary winding. This characteristic is particularly useful for parallel rectifier circuits. If the winding current is equally distributed, there is no need to add current sharing resistor or other components in the parallel rectifier circuit.

 

2. High power density

Because of its small size and excellent temperature dissipation characteristics, high frequency transformer can be tightly packaged with related semiconductor devices and inductors to achieve high power density. Its current density can reach 30A / module.

 

3. High power

Adjust the leakage inductance, so that it can have a very fast switching time, very low insertion loss, it can reach a very high power. The inter turn conduction loss between secondary winding and primary winding is very small.

 

4. High current density

High frequency transformer has excellent temperature rise characteristics. Because of these characteristics, it can achieve high current density in a very small package.

 

5. Low cost

The whole high-frequency transformer is composed of a small number of related cheap components, and the assembly is very convenient, so the cost of the transformer is very low.
